Generative Accessibility
Accessibility (AI Access, Index A) contributes 20% of the AIA Score and checks whether scanned pages have an extracted heading and a meta description.
How it is scored today
Each scanned page receives:
- 50 points for a nonempty extracted heading.
- 50 points for a nonempty meta description.
Index A is the rounded average of these page scores. A page with both receives 100 points; a page with one receives 50; a page with neither receives 0.
The calculation checks whether these fields are present. It does not assess heading quality or whether meta descriptions are unique.

What this input does not test
- Broken links.
- Page speed, Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), or JavaScript rendering.
- Crawler permissions in robots.txt or firewalls.
- Keyboard access or screen reader support.
- Any AI system’s actual ability to retrieve the site.
How to improve this input
Give every page a descriptive heading and a unique, useful meta description that summarizes its main content.
Confirm that the scanned content includes a nonempty extracted heading and meta description. Descriptive wording and unique descriptions are good practice, but the current calculation awards points for presence alone.
Recommended practices (not currently scored)
These practices can improve access to your content, but they do not change the current AIA Score:
- Fix broken internal links. Check that links lead to the intended pages.
- Include primary content in the initial HTML. Use server-side or static rendering where appropriate. Many AI crawlers do not execute JavaScript, so content available only after client-side rendering may be missed.
- Review crawler permissions. Check that robots.txt and firewalls allow the AI crawlers you want to permit. See Robots.txt and AI Crawlers.
- Publish and validate Markdown and llms.txt files. Confirm that the files load successfully and match your current content. See llms.txt.
Publishing Semantic JSON, Markdown, or llms.txt files does not change the current score. No AI service is guaranteed to read these files.
